Minimum Qualifications Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications This individual will design and develop clearinghouses, data dashboards, conduct needs assessments and evaluations using qualitative or quantitative research methods. This individual will supervise and manage other researchers and students on the team and work collaboratively with their supervisors. They will collaborate with various other entities across the State to collect input, design, implement, and manage projects. The person in this position will work collaboratively with a variety of clients, data sources, and datasets.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Strong background in designing and developing clearinghouses, data dashboards using data analytics and visualization.

Background in criminal justice, behavioral health, opioids or related areas.

Experience in working with databases, cleaning data, planning and executing data analysis and summarizing results.

Experience building data visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik, and accessing a wide array of data sources.

Proficient in Microsoft Power BI/Tableau development, including DAX functions, Power Query, Power Automate, and integration with other business systems to create impactful visualizations, reports, and dashboards.

Skilled in SQL for creating custom tables, views, and scripts.

Demonstrated training and/or experience in designing and conducting research, needs assessment, or program evaluation projects using qualitative and quantitative research methods, conducting literature reviews.

Team-based experience in research or evaluation project design, completion goals, deliverables, and adhering to timelines.

Strong data skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Knowledge or experience in using programs such as Microsoft word, excel, access, Qualtrics, SPSS, NVivo, Canva or similar applications.

Excellent project management skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Duties/Responsibilities

Design and development of clearinghouses and dashboards using data analytics and visualization tools.

Conduct program evaluations, needs assessments, and qualitative and/or quantitative research for multiple projects.

Develop data collection measures (surveys, focus group protocols) and analyze data using qualitative or quantitative research analysis methods including working with large databases, data cleaning, organizing and summarizing results by creating impactful reports, visualizations, and dashboards.

Works collaboratively with a variety of clients, and with multiple data sources and datasets.

Prepares Human Subjects proposals; engages in sample recruitment.

Collaborates with various other entities across the State to collect input, design, implement, and manage projects.

Arranges for and conducts interviews, focus groups and surveys related to data collection. This may involve statewide travel for site visits and technical support.

Prepares reports and manuscripts, communicates findings to key stakeholders.

Present research or program evaluation findings at partner meetings and at local, state, and national meetings and conferences to technical and non-technical audiences.

Conducts literature reviews, environmental scans.

Supervises and manages other researchers and students on the team and works collaboratively with their supervisors.
