Community Memorial Health Systems in Ventura, CA . The Designated Institutional Officer (DIO) reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer of Community Memorial Healthcare (CMH). This role oversees Graduate Medical Education (GME) and Undergraduate Medical Education (UME), including all related programs, research, and compliance across the system. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Oversee residency, fellowship, and medical student programs, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and maintaining institutional records. Lead initiatives to foster inter-professional learning and collaboration within UME and GME programs. Ensure regulatory compliance, oversee research programs, academic policies, and grants. Develop and implement educational curricula emphasizing teamwork and collaborative practice. Build strategic partnerships with academic and healthcare organizations to support GME and institutional initiatives. Provide leadership for faculty and staff development, including training, mentorship, and evaluations. Manage operational aspects, including budgeting, hiring, and resource allocation for educational programs. Contribute to health system and GME strategic planning, including developing a five-year GME plan. Work clinically with residents and students in affiliated clinics. Supervisory Responsibilities:
Direct oversight of multiple educational and administrative staff, including program directors and coordinators. Minimum Qualifications: Current, unrestricted California medical license (MD or DO) Board Certification Unrestricted DEA License At least 3 years as a Residency or Fellowship Program Director or Associate Director Minimum 5 years in clinical practice with current competence Strong leadership and strategic skills Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years in clinical practice Community Memorial Healthcare is a community-owned, not-for-profit health system serving west Ventura County.
