Job Information The Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University seeks candidates for the position of Assistant Professor (M.D., D.O., M.B.B.S.). We support visa options as applicable. The position includes clinical and educational duties, with potential support for clinical research. Responsibilities Serve on institutional committees as assigned by Clinical and Program Directors and Regional Hospital Administrator. Provide clinical leadership and guidance to Behavior Specialists and HSTs in clinical management and treatment of individuals at ECRH. Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring for efficiency and effectiveness in all areas of Forensic services (therapy, testing, and assessment). Contribute to the overall goals of the organization as a representative of Forensic services. Promote the development and utilization of the Recovery Model within ECRH treatment services. Lead and participate in interdisciplinary educational efforts with psychiatry fellows, residents, medical students, nursing students, and psychology forensic fellows via didactic instruction and mentoring. Provide instruction to Augusta University students, including mentoring, advising, supervising, providing evaluation and timely feedback, and contributing to lectures and small groups. Coordinate and conduct research and/or education projects as approved by the department leadership. Approximately 50% time allocated to Teaching/Instruction; prior to first fellow arrival, focus may be more on administration of the fellowship and direct patient care; after fellowship is operational, approximately 50% time will be allocated to Patient Care. Participate in delivering clinical services for the Forensic Unit in alignment with ECRH mission and accrediting standards. Share in weeknight, weekend, and holiday call for the adult psychiatry service, in rotation with faculty (estimated: ~1 weekend per quarter, ~1 holiday per year, and ~2 weeknights of resident telephone backup per month). Minimum Requirements Educational Requirements M.D., MBBS, or D.O. with forensic training; Georgia license eligibility; psychiatry board certification or eligibility. To apply
