Eliot is seeking a
Juvenile Justice Vocational Director
to join our Juvenile Justice residential program. Eliot's Juvenile Justice residential program provides placement for court-involved youth, ages 13 to 21, while awaiting court proceedings assessment, and/or those involved in treatment. This role supports our residential program by delivering a hands-on vocational curriculum focused on woodworking and project-based instruction. The Vocational Director plays a critical role in engaging youth, building their skills, and providing a structured, safe learning environment that promotes growth, responsibility, and self-confidence. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic educator and role model, committed to helping youth thrive through meaningful vocational experiences. Responsibilities
Deliver a woodworking and project-based vocational curriculum tailored to individual learning needs. Coordinate, plan, and implement lessons that maximize learning outcomes. Ensure safety and proper use of vocational tools and equipment. Supervise daily operations of the vocational classroom and maintain compliance with all program, state, and licensing requirements. Build rapport with youth and actively engage them in learning and social skill development. Attend required meetings and maintain positive relationships with families, agencies, and community partners. Oversee classroom safety, maintenance, and supply needs. Serve as a positive role model, maintaining professional boundaries and certifications (CPR, First Aid, CPI, etc.). Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years old, with a valid driver’s license BA/BS in a related field preferred; minimum of two years’ experience required. Experience working with youth and delivering vocational education. Knowledge of woodworking tools and safety protocols. Schedule:
