Pre-Litigation Managing Attorney – Los Angeles, CA We are looking for a seasoned and strategic Pre-Litigation Managing Attorney to lead and inspire our high-performing pre-litigation team. In this leadership role, you will oversee the management of up to 800 active personal injury cases and supervise a team that includes case managers, demand writers, settlement and lien negotiators, and support staff.

The ideal candidate brings exceptional leadership capabilities, extensive experience in personal injury law, and a strong commitment to mentoring and developing legal talent. Leadership & Team Supervision

Provide direct supervision to case managers, demand writers, settlement negotiators, lien negotiators, and support staff.

Oversee the assignment and strategic management of Serious Injury (SI) cases to ensure comprehensive handling and optimal outcomes.

Mentor and coach junior attorneys and case managers, fostering professional development, accountability, and performance excellence.

Operational Management

Ensure timely and efficient progression of cases through the pre-litigation process, with a strong focus on key performance metrics such as Average Matter Value (AMV) and Time on Desk (TOD).

Supervise the Settlement Department, reviewing reduction requests for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.

Collaborate on settlement strategies to support favorable client outcomes and ensure alignment with overall case goals.

Advise the intake team on case viability, strategy, and quality to support strong case selection and early-stage planning.

Process Optimization & Quality Control

Guide the evaluation of high-value demands by advising on general damages assessments for SI cases, ensuring alignment with firm benchmarks and best practices.

Implement and uphold best practices for case management, documentation, and client communication to maintain consistency and quality across teams.

Coordinate closely with the litigation department to ensure smooth transitions from pre-litigation to litigation phases.

Maintain strict adherence to legal ethics, compliance requirements, and firm protocols.

Client Engagement

Participate in direct client interactions for high-value settlements and complex negotiations, providing expert legal counsel and reinforcing the firm’s client-first approach.

Promote client satisfaction by ensuring timely communication, transparency, and effective resolution of concerns.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

Act as a liaison with the HR department on pre-litigation personnel matters, ensuring alignment between legal operations and HR practices.

Support interdepartmental collaboration to drive process efficiency and enhance organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership with the California State Bar.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in personal injury law, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

Proven ability to manage high case volumes while achieving strong settlement results.

In-depth understanding of personal injury case valuation, negotiation, and lien resolution strategies.

Familiarity with legal CRM platforms such as Litify is preferred.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Highly organized, with a commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
