Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system; handle transactions, provide receipts, and ensure top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager as needed. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as new title reservations, trade-in, and Pro Rewards programs. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on company policies and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Provide recognition and feedback to all store associates; maintain records of performance where required. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to shifts; knowledge of inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics. Schedule store associates to follow scheduling guidelines and ensure adequate staffing for optimal guest service. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked. Ensure store areas are clean, organized, merchandised per guidelines, and equipment is in proper working order. Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and keep products organized and properly labeled. Count, balance, and reconcile daily POS totals; manage bank deposits as required. Verify shipments for discrepancies and communicate issues to management; conduct inventories as needed. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately; ensure proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain guest and associate safety; address hazardous situations and report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Adhere to opening and closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and work independently or in a team. Meet performance expectations, including attendance, appearance, safety, and respectful workplace. Operate POS system; basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork and follow instructions; execute financial tasks per policy. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Remain reliable, trustworthy, and able to manage pressure; problem-solving skills. Able to work alone; stand/move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs; basic physical requirements.
