Upper School Physics Teacher
Position Description Upper School Physics Teacher at Cape Fear Academy – an independent PK3‑12 school in Wilmington, NC. CFA is a community of 800+ students and 120+ faculty committed to academic excellence, creativity and diversity.
Major Responsibilities
Teach 5 sections across all levels of Physics, including AP Physics.
Advocate for and collaborate on CFA’s signature Engineering Certificate Program.
Faculty advisor to a 10‑12 student cohort.
Provide technology‑rich instructional and assessment strategies for all learners.
Collaborate with staff to create engaging lessons and a positive school culture.
Offer tutoring to individual and small groups as required.
Sponsor a student club and/or coach an athletic team.
Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience and knowledge of all upper school Physics levels, including AP Physics.
Proficiency using technology such as online texts, iPads and computer interface measurements.
Interest and ability to contribute to extracurricular activities.
Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
Education Bachelor’s degree in the subject area required; a Master’s degree preferred.
Experience Three or more years of high school teaching experience, preferably in an independent school environment.
