Position Summary: The Department of Music at Eastern New Mexico University invites applications for a one-year position, Visiting Assistant Professor of Voice to begin in August 2025. Position Overview The Department of Music at Eastern New Mexico University is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor of Voice for a one-year appointment starting August 2025. Review of applications begins June 10, 2025, and continues until filled. The position requires on-campus presence. Responsibilities Teach a 12-credit hour load each semester Engage in performance and scholarly activities Participate in department committees Support departmental goals including assessment, strategic planning, curriculum development, recruitment, and retention Perform additional duties as assigned by the department chair or dean The candidate will teach applied voice (private and class settings), courses in diction, vocal literature, stagecraft, and/or vocal pedagogy. Piano skills and music direction experience in college-level opera/musical theatre are desirable. Minimum Qualifications DMA, DM, or PhD in Voice or a related field; ABD considered depending on completion date Strong university-level vocal teaching and performance experience Preferred Qualifications University teaching experience Evidence of scholarly activity or creative work in vocal performance Preference for tenor, baritone, or bass applicants Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Experience in applied voice teaching and scholarship Commitment to diversity and student success Sufficient keyboard skills to support vocal instruction Working Conditions Work is primarily sedentary but may require exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
