This is a Per Diem position
offering flexible scheduling based on availability and staffing needs. Summary:
The PSS (in training) is responsible for providing hands-on care and services to meet identified resident needs. This includes coordination with other CNA/CRMA/PSS staff, implementation of the interdisciplinary service plan for each resident, reporting changes in resident condition, and documenting residents’ physical ability to perform self-care. The PSS observes, documents, and reports all aspects of residents’ activities of daily living to ensure appropriate level of care and placement. The PSS works under the guidance of a preceptor/mentor, the direction of the RCC or Quality Care Coordinator, and the supervision of the RN to maintain the highest levels of physical, psychological, social, and spiritual well-being in accordance with the resident service plan and current standards of care. Requirements Education, Training or Certifications Required: Must be 18 years old PSS certification or recertification required within 120 days of hire Experience Required: One or more years of experience in geriatrics preferred Familiarity with memory loss care Special Requirements: BLS certification within 120 days of hire Basic computer skills preferred Cognitive Requirements: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Additional languages preferred Ability to perform under stress, prioritize tasks, and follow through Physical Demands: Ability to stand/work for most of an 8–12 hour shift Must be able to bend/lift 25–55 lbs. (e.g., assisting residents in and out of bed) Environment: Potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and contagious diseases Potential for periods of high stress
