The Sr. Outside Sales Representative will sell, and service manufactured components, including fabricated roof and floor trusses, pre-cut framing systems, and associated building products and services. To be successful in the role, you must be able to represent A-1’s core values of

Build and maintain relationships with potential and existing customers (Builders & Framers) in the light frame construction industry focusing on (but not limited to) Multi-Family construction. Develop plans, implement strategies, and generate leads to expanding the customer base in the assigned market/region Generate sales opportunities through research on client needs and industry competition which meet the company’s profitability and growth goals Effectively demonstrate the features and benefits of company products and services Effectively plan and conduct sales presentations for current and prospective customers of A-1 products and services Focus on servicing accounts located in the general designated areas but follow the accounts wherever they build projects within the A-1 service shipping area. Prioritize understanding customer needs, jobs, and long-term value creation. Persistent and results oriented, follow up and focus on moving deal forward. Identify and locate new clients through a variety of methods, including networking and cold calling Responsible for the development and performance of all sales-related activities in assigned territory. Provide information and other bid specifications to customers Answer and clarify inquiries from customers regarding products and the industry at large Collaborate with VP of Sales and other department staff, to confirm that jobs are processed with accuracy, efficiency, and that products are distributed properly Periodically prepare and report results, status of accounts, and leads to VP of Sales Meet sales quota(s) and goal(s) Attend and participate in all company-sponsored training programs, as required Trouble shoot field issues, which may be complex in nature Proactively recommend adjustments to current product lines to ensure that pricing remains competitive in the local market Required Skills/Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent sales and negotiation skills Deep knowledge of prefabricated components, lumber, and operations Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists Reliable, thoughtful, cooperative, builds trust and supports customers and internal teams alike Organized with attention to detail Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business or construction-related field preferred Minimum of 5 years of proven success in truss systems, lumber, or similar field required Existing book of business or established network connections required Physical Requirements
Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift 25 pounds Must be able to Travel to meet with clients or potential clients regularly. Territory begins along the I10 corridor from Pensacola to Jacksonville and extends into North Florida, Southern Georgia and Southern Alabama. Employment Details
