Outside Sales Representative (Geosynthetics)
Based in St. Louis, Core & Main is a leader in advancing reliable infrastructure with local service and nationwide support. Job Summary: Responsible to profitably grow sales to achieve yearly sales goals as a sales consultant for current core industries and emerging industries and markets. Responsibilities include prospecting for new accounts, retaining existing accounts, and increasing opportunities with existing customers. This position requires operation of a Company Vehicle or a Personal Vehicle and such operation is performed more than 20% of the average work week. If selected for this position, Core & Main will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. An acceptable MVR report is a requirement. Major Tasks, Responsibilities And Key Accountabilities
Conduct on-site visits with new and existing customers. Manage sales volume with an existing group of customers; prospect to expand the customer base. Forecast, prospect, and bid for new business, including customers, markets and additional service opportunities. Maintain existing and build new customer partnerships. Develop and sustain sales relationships with key decision makers and influencers at all levels of an organization. Share market and competitor information with applicable channels within the organization; establish relationships and working partnerships. Partner with customers, vendors, Credit, and Accounts Receivable to resolve customer service issues; identify customer product needs and coordinate order execution. May conduct negotiations with suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers. Assist in training or mentoring of associates. Preferred Qualifications
Point of sale (POS) system or consultative selling/solution selling experience is required. Knowledge of customer business needs. Knowledge of product line and core customers. Career Level Dimensions
Typical Training/Experience Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field; certification is required in some areas, or MS/MA with generally 2-4 years of experience. Geosynthetic knowledge is a plus; certification is required in some areas. Problem Complexity
Demonstrates skill in data analysis by resolving missing or inconsistent information and handling complex data. Autonomy
Work increasingly independent; guidance provided on unusual or complex problems. Work is typically reviewed by a supervisor or customers of the process. Leadership

Typically works in a comfortable environment with potential exposure to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes. Overnight travel is often required.
