Overview The Key Carrying Lead has a direct impact on both the execution of brand standards and the teammate experience. With the guidance of the Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager, the Key Carrying Lead is the in‑store expert of their department and focuses on delivering the best service to customers while providing direction to teammates. Their ability to lead by example, be empathetic, relentless in adversity, optimistic, and collaborative sets them apart.
Responsibilities
Support building and hiring a strong team by observing in‑store interviews and department tours.
Build a people‑first culture by connecting with every teammate, fostering trust, respect, and contributing to a strong store recognition culture.
Plan, organize, and control 30‑day operations with guidance from the Assistant Store Manager, including workforce alignment for daily assignments, game plans, projects, or store events.
Strategically leverage teammates to ensure brand standards are met and daily programs and processes are executed, delegating tasks based on priority.
Assist the store leadership team with general supervision, including opening and closing the store, front‑end and cash office functions, and processing firearms sales in compliance with regulations where applicable.
Uphold merchandising and presentation standards by following floor sets, signage requirements, price changes, inventory presentation, and replenishment standards.
Assist with training teammates on company procedures and programs, including onboarding new teammates and cross‑training existing ones.
Maintain loss prevention standards and controls in the department.
Prioritize coaching and development, providing hands‑on coaching and explaining the “why” behind tasks, plans, and processes such as protection plans, scorecards, and loss prevention.
Lead by example to support the organization’s vision, helping teammates understand how their responsibilities align with common purpose and organizational goals.
Create an inclusive store environment where teammates and athletes feel welcome, safe, and respected.
Adhere to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures, maintaining confidentiality of company information.
Take an all‑hands‑on‑deck approach to support the team across the store.
Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Prior retail sales or customer‑focused experience preferred.
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift 15 to 35 lbs. repetitively (up to 25 times per hour).
Ability to work extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) standing or walking.
Ability to work at heights > 4 feet using a ladder or aerial lifting device.
Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods (up to 2 hours continuously).
