Position Overview The Molecular Account Executive will ensure the assigned territory meets or exceeds Diasorin sales objectives. Work with the Regional Sales Director to identify and evaluate market opportunities, establish and achieve sales objectives within assigned accounts, and negotiate contracts to drive high customer satisfaction in collaboration with support teams. Territory includes: Houston, Corpus Christi & San Antonio. Candidate must live in the territory.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Achieve Diasorin’s annual financial goals and profitable revenue growth within the defined geographic territory; take primary ownership of assigned customer targets.
Meet annual Instrument and Reagent sales objectives for Infectious Disease and Genetics product lines across targeted markets.
Develop and execute strategic business plans at the executive level with key accounts and key opinion leaders to advance Molecular Diagnostics objectives.
Lead critical stages of the sales lifecycle within the assigned customer base.
Identify opportunities by gathering decision-making criteria, qualifying needs, and understanding customer goals.
Develop product and financial solutions aligned with customer goals and laboratory environments.
Present workflow analyses, product information, and financial justification to create customer value and commitment.
Act as Diasorin’s primary business consultant, leading the full spectrum of sales activities and internal/external negotiations.
Negotiate win-win, solutions-based outcomes and obtain agreement with customers and Diasorin in line with Contract Department policies.
Support the implementation of specified product lines from order to go-live and beyond.
Collaborate with Molecular Applications Specialists, Strategic Accounts, and Scientific Affairs to grow reagent sales and address ongoing customer needs.
Build and manage customer relationships within the territory; prepare Salesforce.com forecasts, account data, territory business plans, and sales reports to achieve quota and product mix objectives.
Develop and execute regional business plans that reflect engagement with leadership, Strategic Accounts, and Regional Marketing.
Coordinate deployment of Diasorin resources to achieve financial and strategic objectives.
Lead development of stakeholder relationships (scientific and executive) to enable profitable growth and overall customer value.
Define territory strategies and tactics for Infectious Disease and Genetics product lines in collaboration with regional teams.
Act as project manager to drive sales and marketing activities with customers, including technical education, meetings, collateral usage, and research opportunities.
Promote, price, and position the Diasorin molecular portfolio; execute customer experiences and events to support market development regionally and nationally.
Work with the Molecular Applications Specialist to grow reagent sales and accelerate go-lives for instruments and reagents.
Provide support to Regional Marketing in developing strategic positioning and market development strategies.
Maintain routine forecasting, account profiling, record keeping, and Salesforce.com data on an ongoing basis; satisfy administrative requirements on time (expense reports, activity reports, business plans, forecasts, etc.).
Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required (B.A./B.S. preferred).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a healthcare-related field (diagnostics, pharmaceutical, or consulting) with 3–5 years in sales and marketing (Molecular preferred).
Demonstrated leadership experience.
Familiarity with key accounts in the defined territory and established relationships with key opinion leaders in related industries.
Knowledge of market and industry drivers; strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build internal and external relationships and teams.
Understanding of internal/external market factors and their impact on the industry; strong planning, organization, and project management skills; ability to operate in matrix environments.
Ability to foster and sustain strong relationships with internal/external customers; strong business acumen, negotiation, and strategic thinking; capital equipment sales skills.
Working Conditions and Travel
Standard Working Conditions: Offsite position—frequently; home-office environment when not traveling to a customer site.
Travel Requirements: 70% travel may be required.
