Overview
Senior Account Manager to join the New York Construction team. This position will provide support and assistance to the underwriting function through customer service, processing of various underwriting transactions, data research and analysis. The Senior Account Manager will partner with assigned underwriters to help develop and service a profitable portfolio with new and renewal business while abiding by underwriting standards and guidelines. Communicates with the designated broker representative to meet service objectives around new business, renewals, and endorsement activity. The Senior Account Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering customer service excellence to internal and external partners. The role will work onsite (5 days per week) at one of the following office locations: New York City, NY or Richmond, VA.
Responsibilities
Works in conjunction with assigned underwriters to assist in delivering on the financial metrics that lead to growth, profitability, and efficiency in accordance with the business unit’s financial plan.
In a team environment, ensures timely customer service and helps execute on company, regulatory, and compliance guidelines.
Independently administers renewal process with authority up to $25k, by examining policyholder’s current coverage details and communicating any recommended adjustments to coverage or premiums.
Meets renewal process timelines for tort and regulatory requirements.
Analyzes and negotiates complex endorsement requests by reviewing policy changes to recommend and negotiate additions, removals, or modifications to coverage directly with the policyholder and manage within established service standards.
Independently triages submissions to determine risk acceptance, processing declinations or obtaining essential information required for quoting; submissions outside the Sr. Account Manager’s authority are forwarded to Underwriter staff.
Conducts underwriting file analysis, including identifying forms and endorsements used in policy construction.
Assists underwriters in carrying out essential duties to enhance overall performance of the division through utilization of systems and guidelines as provided.
Responsible for training Account Managers.
Communicates and collaborates with Marine Operations to simplify work processes and ensure portfolio quality.
Develops and maintains positive relationships with underwriters, customers and business partners to provide high-quality service.
Sets up rating, issues binders, and sends quotes on behalf of the underwriters.
Interacts with brokers to assist with follow-up for underlying information, subjectivities, and account inquiries.
Reviews inspection reports and follows up with brokers on observations affecting coverage implications.
Reviews, analyzes, and processes premium audits including dispute resolutions.
Attends broker visits when appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent commercial insurance experience.
At least 1 year of industry experience required.
AAIS familiarity preferred, but not required.
Ability to function effectively in a time-sensitive, high-volume environment.
Flexible and adaptable to changing direction, prioritization, and multitasking.
Detail-oriented with initiative and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
Strong oral, written, organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills.
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with agents/brokers.
Professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills.
Proficient in computer programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to travel on a minimal basis.
Compensation and Benefits The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
New York City Pay Range: $85,500-$99,600
