Overview
The Retail Associate assists the store management team in reaching the operational goals of the site by functioning in various capacities within the retail location. The titles of the various jobs the Retail Associate may be called upon to learn and work include: Cashier, Textiles or Wares Producer, Donation Door Attendant, eCommerce Producer, e-Books Producer, and Rack or Cart Runner. Responsibilities
Cashier: Rings up customer orders, maintains a balanced drawer, follows cash handling procedures, provides general information about Goodwill programs, educates customers, and directs higher-level questions to the appropriate associate or manager. Maintains cleanliness of the sales floor (purge, size, run racks, and merchandise). Textiles or Wares Producer: Sorts product for quality and value, tags and hangs textiles or wares, and maintains production standards (100 items/hour for wares, 85 items/hour for textiles) with daily production tracking. Occasional pallet jack and conveyor belt use. Donation Door Attendant: Accepts donations, sorts products efficiently, maintains a clean backroom, and assists with loading/unloading trucks. Uses heavy equipment as needed (e.g., pallet jack, double stacker, floor scrubber, hydraulic lift). eCommerce Producer: Identifies valuable items for ClickGoodwill, stays informed on market value via online marketplaces, properly tags and packs items for ClickGoodwill, and educates the team on eCommerce high-ticket items. Packs curated products onto pallets and ships totes to meet store budgets. e-Books Producer: Scans books, decides what is sent to ClickGoodwill or displayed in-store, prints inventory sheets, packs and ships totes, and maintains top-seller displays. Rack and Cart Runner: Inspects racks/carts for quality, merchandises and purges the sales floor, maintains order, and updates production tracking. Required Competencies
