Cardiac Monitor Technician – Part Time – Rotating Shifts Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking an experienced Cardiac Monitor Technician to join our team.

Job Summary Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, the Monitor Technician is responsible for constant observation of the cardiac monitors and prompt notification to the RN regarding any changes in rhythms. The Technician interprets and documents rhythm strips.

Shift and Schedule Part-time (24 hours/week) – 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm or 11:00 pm – 7:00 am. Every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Responsibilities

Monitors central station monitors.

Operates monitoring equipment.

Troubleshoots equipment including faulty leads and battery function.

Initiates and discontinues telemetry on admission, transfer, and discharge.

Measures and documents per unit protocol.

Interprets monitored rhythm.

Notifies nursing staff of any rhythm disturbance or changes in patient rhythm.

Prints strips with changes in patient’s rhythm.

Reviews alarm history per unit protocol.

Appropriately posts patients off the unit.

Cleans wires and telepacks.

Monitors telemetry supplies and equipment.

Responds appropriately to emergency situations.

Performs EKGs.

Attends Annual Skills Fair.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Graduate.

Successful completion of Monitor Technician Class preferred.

Previous Monitor Tech experience preferred.
