Overview
Nurse Coordinator - Magnet Program for Samaritan Hospital. FT Days 8hr shifts. Reporting to the Director of Professional Practice and Nursing Research, this role supports the organization in implementing initiatives related to obtaining and maintaining ANCC’s Pathway to Excellence (PTE) designation and ensuring the organization’s milieu reflects the internalization of the six standards essential to developing a positive practice environment for nursing across acute care. The role develops strategies, coordinates with all departments to implement and enhance policies, procedures and processes to ensure a positive result for various accreditation groups. Primary responsibility for nursing clinical practice and program development and submission related to PTE designation, coordination, development, and submission.
Responsibilities
Support implementation of initiatives related to ANCC Pathway to Excellence (PTE) designation and the six standards.
Develop strategies and coordinate with departments to implement and enhance policies, procedures and processes for accreditation.
Primary responsibility for nursing clinical practice and program development and submission related to PTE designation, coordination, development, and submission.
Qualifications
Education: Minimum: Master’s degree in Nursing; or enrolled and obtaining Master’s in Nursing within two years of hire. Preferred: Doctorate degree.
Credentials/Licensure: Minimum: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York. Preferred: National Certification in Specialty.
Related Experience: Minimum: Three years of nursing experience in an acute care setting. Three years of teaching or leadership experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Other Knowledge, Skills And Abilities: Outstanding verbal and written communication; ability to foster positive relationships with physicians, nurses, healthcare team members and leadership. Demonstrated leadership, planning, organizing, implementation, evaluation and program maintenance. Ability to analyze, evaluate and problem solve; familiarity with data analysis and data-based decision-making. Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and present complex information clearly. Willingness to challenge established methods constructively. Results-oriented, critical thinker with negotiation skills and the ability to manage complex systems. Commitment to excellence in clinical practice and customer service. Ability to make timely decisions and work with ambiguity. Ability to synthesize multidisciplinary input to develop solutions and stay ahead of clinical developments.
Computer Competency: Familiarity with standard desktop and Windows-based systems (email, e-learning, intranet) and ability to use other software required to perform essential functions.
Physical/Mental: Independently mobile; computer work; ability to lift up to 20 pounds; ability to handle multiple demands and long hours.
