Responsibilities

Support the philosophy of the curriculum content department, assisting the content director with curriculum development and implementation, and maintain continuous knowledge of current district curriculum, state, and local standards in content area initiatives.

Select and assist with the implementation of district-wide curriculum/programs/assessments, including curriculum writing as needed to bridge to district designated curriculum, and progress monitoring for student mastery through formative, and summative curriculum embedded assessments.

Create and facilitate district-level professional development, and instructional programs that utilize technology into the classroom.

Serve as a liaison, as needed, between School Leadership Division offices and the curriculum content department.

Consult campus leadership to ensure continuous improvement in the achievement of students.

Coordinate and facilitate special group meetings over curriculum content to receive field feedback and work collaboratively with other departments to develop curriculum programs and keep abreast of foundational knowledge that meet the needs of diverse students.

Develop and maintain positive, collegial working relationships with peers/co-workers, leadership personnel, campus administrators, and teachers assisting with participation in district-wide events, professional development and other content related extracurricular events.

Collaborate with Evaluation and Accountability department in data analysis over curriculum content for assessments.

Prepare and/or review content-related district level presentations, summaries, required reports, data and other documents as needed for distribution to the executive director and/or curriculum content director.

Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

Required Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university

Preferred Master’s Degree from an accredited university

Preferred Valid Texas Teacher Certificate with required endorsements for subject and subject level assigned in related content area

Required 5+ years of direct experience of classroom teaching, administrative, and/or professional development experience in an educational setting with diverse student populations

Ability to implement, present, and edit/revise written communication in all forms, resulting in products that are precise and accurate

Demonstrated proficiency in organization, conducting effective professional development, and best practices to improve content, knowledge and skills

Knowledge of district’s content curriculum, national/state/local science standards, and district initiatives such as the district evaluation instrument for classroom teachers

Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Apps tools and applications, web-based applications, digital instructional tools for the classroom, and professional development

Ability to create and facilitate professional development (asynchronous and synchronous), designing web pages, and surveys

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of this position
