Job Title : Associate Attorney (Civil Defense & Workers’ Compensation) Job Overview A law firm based in Knoxville, TN is seeking a qualified Associate Attorney to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have litigation experience in civil defense and/or workers’ compensation matters and a strong understanding of the legal landscape in Tennessee. Duties Perform legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw. Draft a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses. Assist in preparing for and supporting attorneys during court proceedings. Provide legal support in workers’ compensation cases and general civil defense matters. Collaborate with attorneys and other team members to strategize case approaches and representation. Produce clear and precise written communications for clients and legal entities. Requirements Admission to the Tennessee Bar and in good standing. Prior litigation experience in general civil defense or workers’ compensation law is preferred. Strong legal research and writing skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Skills Proficiency in legal research and using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with civil defense and workers’ compensation litigation. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
