Charleston, South Carolina Duties
Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters with a focus on defense work Handle depositions, mediations, motion practice, and trial preparation Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses Appear in court to argue motions and represent clients at hearings and trials Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on strategy and case development Communicate with clients and opposing counsel to negotiate settlements or prepare for trial Receive cross-training in workers’ compensation law and assist with related matters as needed Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience Willingness to be cross-trained in workers’ compensation defense Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced litigation practice Strong work ethic and desire to gain real courtroom experience Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school Certifications
Licensed to practice law in South Carolina Member in good standing with the South Carolina Bar Skills
