We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Foreclosure Attorney to join our team. We are looking for an attorney who understands all areas of foreclosure, including all documents.

About the Role

The employee monitors all proceedings and attends necessary hearings. In Person appearances are occasionally required but efforts are made to keep travel to a minimum. The employee reports to the firm and the client the results of all hearings and establishes any necessary strategy/procedure necessary to the maintenance of each case, including managing litigated files as they arise. The employee responds to client inquiries on the law, process, and procedure and assists clients in establishing proper protocols where necessary. As a Foreclosure Attorney, you will be responsible for coaching or training your support staff, providing legal advice to our clients, conducting research, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in various legal proceedings. Responsibilities

Representing secured creditors, financial institutions, and mortgage servicers in all stages of the default process

Managing and maintaining default files in accordance with the firm’s compliance requirements.

Reviewing and signing documents in the default process, including motions, notices, affidavits, and other pleadings.

Reviewing and compiling documents required for the default process.

Researching and analyzing statutes, judicial decisions, administrative law, and local rules.

Attending hearings, mediations, trials, settlement conferences, and other appearances, as necessary.

Handling client inquiries in a timely and competent manner through various case management systems, phone, and email.

Properly using and relying on the firm’s case management system and reporting to ensure legal and client deadlines are adhered to.

Maximizing client billing opportunities while maintaining a clear focus on compliance expectations by prioritizing and working at a fast pace on a high volume of cases.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience preferably in the default servicing industry.

Litigation experience preferred

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction

Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal principles

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Attorneys with the ability to practice in Illinois, preferred (not required)

Partial remote work is available provided all work is timely and consistently completed. A strong ability to self‑manage tasks and communicate with a team is crucial to this role.
