Summary : The Ambulatory Clinical Informatics Specialist collaborates with ambulatory clinic staff and IT to develop IT system efficacy. Responsibilities include providing initial clinical application training, continuing education, and support. The CI specialist resolves problems efficiently and acts as a resource and liaison at ambulatory staff meetings. Education / Experience : High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 3 years of medical practice experience preferred. Experience as an ambulatory clinical IT subject matter expert or Super-User preferred with certified EHR applications. License / Certification : Active CMA/RMA, LPN, or RN license preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Demonstrated interest in Healthcare Information Technology (IT). Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. Ability to provide formal and informal technology teaching and competency validation. Strong understanding of ambulatory clinic workflow processes. Self-direction in utilizing resources to meet objectives. Demonstrated ability to be self-directed with excellent organization, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements : Position requires sitting for 50% of the workday and mobility 50% of the workday. Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
