IT Project Manager for Implementation of Teamcenter (PLM tool)
Job Title: IT Project Manager – PLM Implementation
Location: Hybrid – Austin, TX Onsite: Monday through Thursday Remote: Friday only
Employment Type: Contract
Pay Structure: $65/hour
Background/Reference Checks: Required (references must be submitted; background check conducted upon offer)
Travel Requirement: None
Role Overview The IT Project Manager will lead the implementation of a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool for hard goods product teams. This role requires strong project leadership, stakeholder communication, and experience managing enterprise initiatives using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Key Responsibilities Project Leadership
Oversee the implementation of a PLM system
Ensure project delivery on schedule and within budget
Facilitate workshops for discovery, planning, and execution
Lead Agile Scrum meetings and iterative development cycles
Stakeholder Communication
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and executive leadership
Create and distribute weekly status reports
Document action items and maintain RACI matrices
Manage project risks, issues, and change requests
Operational Management
Participate in resource forecasting and staffing
Manage project closure activities and ensure documentation of deliverables
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
6–10 years of experience managing large-scale enterprise projects
Experience working within a Project Management Office (PMO)
Foundational understanding of PLM tools
Experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies (SAFe is a plus)
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
Hands‑on experience with Teamcenter PLM implementations
Familiarity with ERP systems or downstream applications
Experience in Retail or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industries
Active certifications such as PMP®, PgMP®, PfMP®, CAPM®, Prince2, or Six Sigma
Core Competencies
Strong facilitation and workshop leadership skills
Risk and issue management with escalation procedures
Proficient in tracking action items and maintaining RACI matrices
Skilled in status reporting and change request managementExperience in resource forecasting and project closure activities
