Certified Public Accountant

Shippen, Pope & Associates, PLLC is seeking a dedicated self-starter with 3+ years of recent public accounting experience to lead tax and/or assurance (reviews, compilations, etc.) engagements for a diverse roster of business and individual clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and skilled in tax preparation and financial reporting. Responsibilities: Prepare complex business (C Corporations, Partnerships, S Corporations) Prepare complex individual tax returns (sole proprietors, farms and farm leases, residential and commercial rentals, vacation rentals, cost allocation) Assist with review, compilation, and other assurance engagements Lead engagements throughout all phases of tax and accounting including research, forecasting and planning, bookkeeping, payroll, TPT preparation, business advisory, and preparation of monthly and year-end adjustments for multiple clients Consult with clients on tax strategy while cultivating professional client relationships Qualifications: 3+ years of recent public accounting tax experience including experience in both business and individual tax EA or Arizona CPA license necessary Bachelor’s degree in accounting a plus Experience preparing and reviewing fiduciary returns a plus Experience with composite returns a plus Ability to work independently and mentor junior staff Microsoft Office and QuickBooks software proficiency (Lacerte a plus) Bi-lingual communication skills (Spanish/English) a plus Competitive salary commensurate with experience Health and dental insurance Flexible schedule with generous PTO Family-friendly, engaging and collaborative office environment Shippen, Pope & Associates, PLLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
