Base pay range $70,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr

Position Overview Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a skilled and adaptable Legal Secretary (Floater) for a prestigious mid-size law firm located in downtown Baltimore. This direct hire position offers an opportunity to work in a beautiful high-rise office setting, helping to support a team of over 50 attorneys. The role requires a professional with a minimum of 3-5 years of law firm experience, particularly in supporting litigation teams, with a focus on bankruptcy and real estate legal teams. Experience in insurance law is also advantageous.

Responsibilities

Administrative Support:

Typing, formatting, proofreading, and editing legal documents, correspondence, and other written materials. Answering phones, taking messages, and managing correspondence. Filing and maintaining hard copy and electronic client files. Preparing expense reports and client billing.

Calendar and Scheduling Management:

Organizing and scheduling attorney calendars for meetings, conferences, and depositions. Scheduling couriers and other special functions.

Legal Support:

Assisting with new client intake processes and conflict checks. Drafting documents and preparing them for electronic filing with courts. Managing and updating client files and legal documents. Supporting attorneys with basic legal research.

Coverage and Backup:

Providing backup for other legal secretaries and staff members to assist with overflow work. Covering reception duties as needed.

Office Support:

Operating office equipment like photocopiers and scanners. Inputting attorney time into timekeeping software.

Required Skills and Knowledge

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and legal document management systems.

Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and court filing requirements.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to adapt to changing environments and work on own initiative.

Required Work Hours The position requires working Monday through Friday during standard business hours.

Benefits The salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
