Overview

Augustana University invites applications for a MSW Program faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, beginning Fall 2026, to assist in preparation of MSW students. This is an on-site role. Major Areas of Responsibility

demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching future social workers in the MSW program actively participate in curriculum design and development and review for the new MSW program work with the MSW Program leadership in fulfilling the program’s mission and goals enhance graduate student experience by serving as academic and career advisor during their time at Augustana University and entry into professional practice maintain compliance with CSWE standards for explicit/implicit curriculum, field placement, and assessment Augustana prides itself on excellent in-person classroom instruction, thus the successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring students in a liberal arts environment. Required Qualifications

an MSW from a CSWE accredited school a doctorate in social work or a closely related field at least two years of post-MSW professional experience high degree of interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency Preferred Qualifications

successful teaching experience in social work education Interacting with students, faculty, and administration with different backgrounds and points of view and a deep appreciation of and respect for academic values and shared governance must be top values of the candidate. Location
