Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
3 years Inspection experience in a Manufacturing environment.
Ability and willingness to use intermediate hand tools (dremel/cut off tooling) and measuring devices (dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
Intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation, including geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including metric conversions and use of geometry.
Knowledge of NDT inspection, Source Inspection, and Mechanical inspection.
Knowledge of electrical setup and troubleshooting.
Willingness to obtain Weld, Braze, and other inspection certifications as required.
Ability to pass visual acuity exam upon offer.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Develop familiarity with various inspections (Final Assembly Electrical test, Mechanical Inspection, FPI, X-ray, Source Inspection).
Understand GD&T and measurement principles.
Interpret blueprints, perform electrical and mechanical inspections, and follow procedures.
Use manual or automated measurement and testing equipment to assure quality.
Identify and document non-conforming parts; maintain records in Oracle.
Inspect raw materials and purchased parts for conformance.
Apply statistical process control techniques as required.
Follow internal and third-party process specifications.
Use proper PPE and safety procedures.
Assist in root cause analysis and support continuous improvement.
Multi-task effectively within deadlines.
Cross-train with team members as needed.
Complete all labor tracking documentation accurately.
Report problems and communicate effectively with team and support functions.
Participate in team initiatives and embody GE Leadership behaviors.
Engage with internal/external customers and support functions.
Perform other duties as required.
Desired Qualifications:
Vocational / Trade School education.
Experience with customer requirements and aerospace manufacturing.
Mechanical problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of special process operations (brazing, soldering, welding, coating).
Understanding of Quality System requirements (e.g., AS9100).
Experience in self-directed teams and lean manufacturing.
3-5 years inspection experience in manufacturing.
Effective team working skills and leadership qualities.
Humble, transparent, focused, and a problem-solver.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with 5S & lean manufacturing.
Physical Demands:
Repetitive use of hands and fingers.
Occasional bending, stooping, twisting, crouching, climbing, balancing.
Continuous sitting; occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.; push/pull up to 22 lbs.
