Freelance Medical Writer – Germany (Remote)
We are supporting a global pharmaceutical company with headquarters in Denmark and operations in Germany in the search for a skilled Freelance Medical Writer. The role focuses on HCP engagement across both branded and non-branded respiratory and anaphylaxis tracks, with multiple projects in play—from campaign creation and localization to educational content development.
The scope includes high-quality content for HCPs such as white papers, email campaigns, landing pages, and promotional materials. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in medical writing for the German market and demonstrate proficiency in navigating approval processes such as PRC/MLR, with a focus on scientific accuracy, referencing, and compliance.
Role
Develop, adapt, and localize content targeting HCPs in Germany.
Lead the creation of campaign materials across multiple formats: White papers, email series, landing pages, ads (static, carousel, video), HCP tools, and webinar sign-up pages.
Ensure all deliverables are medically accurate, scientifically referenced, and aligned with brand and compliance standards.
Navigate the MLR (Medical, Legal, Regulatory) or PRC review processes for compliant, timely approvals.
Review global assets, adapt and localize for the German market, ensuring cultural and clinical relevance.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, reviewers, and creative teams.
Apply experience in respiratory and anaphylaxis or related therapeutic areas to deliver meaningful, well-contextualized content.
Manage multiple workstreams and deadlines without compromising quality.
Profile
Proven experience as a medical writer in pharmaceutical communications—either agency-side or directly with pharma clients.
Strong expertise in HCP engagement and localization of complex scientific content.
Deep understanding of the German pharmaceutical/healthcare landscape.
Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate MLR/PRC processes, including preparation and submission.
Exceptional writing and editing skills, balancing scientific rigor with clear messaging.
Familiarity with referencing tools, publication standards, and approval documentation.
Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, capable of handling complex approval feedback loops.
Experience with Asana or other project/task management tools is a plus.
Legally registered freelancer in Germany.
Additional Details
Language: Native or fluent German required; English proficiency essential for collaboration and review processes.
Tools: Familiarity with referencing systems, content development tools, and internal approval platforms.
Therapeutic areas: Experience in respiratory or allergy/immunology (anaphylaxis) is a strong asset.
Location: Remote, but candidates must be based in Germany.
Scope: Approx. 15-20 hours/week.
Start: As soon as possible.
Duration: Until at least the end of the year, with potential for extension.
