Position Summary
Provides support services for servers to provide members and guests an elegant dining experience. Sets, clears and resets tables.
Essential Functions
Understands and implements The Gallery | The Fresco’s statement of purpose and service guarantees.
Understands and adheres to the Club attendance policy
Quickly and quietly clear dirty table settings and reset tables
Promptly and consistently reset all service ware as needed
Maintain stock and cleanliness of all service stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment (including silverware, linen, water and iced tea pitchers, tray jacks, bread napkins and trays)
Promptly serve bread, butter and water at the beginning of a meal and replenish as necessary
Properly clear and stack dirty dishes on trays and remove from dining room to designated areas
Follows the service rules of etiquette
Conducts oneself professionally, with members, guests and co-workers
Properly times the service to conform to guest needs
Assists members, guests and co-workers in a friendly and courteous manner
Has a clear understanding of the Club rules and reports infractions to management in a professional manner
All employees are expected to comply with all Club (and Gallery & Fresco specific) standards and procedures upon hire to maintain safe and efficient operations. Employees who violate Club (and Gallery & Fresco specific) standards and procedures will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Supportive Functions
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position is required to perform certain supportive functions. The amount of time spent performing each of these functions is to be solely determined by the manager/supervisor on duty and is based on the particular requirements of The Gallery | The Fresco or Club.
Fold napkins for bread service and table settings; maintain adequate supply
Perform all assigned side work
Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health standards and room specifications
Assist in the training of newly hired employees
Specific Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
An individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities to be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job.
Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
Ability to understand the English language sufficient to assist members, guests and co-workers
Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items
Ability to transport large trays (up to 50 lbs.) through crowded areas on a continuous basis
Qualification Standards
Education
Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skill and abilities.
Experience
Prior hospitality experience (fine dining specifically) is preferred
Licenses And Certificates
Ability to obtain any Club-required certification or licenses (Ex: TiPs certification)
Other
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to support the business needs of the Club.
