Position Summary
Operational Accountant II is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, analyzing financial statements, and supporting the Operational Accounting management team. Operational Accountant II will have proven knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, strong work ethic, and attention to detail. Assists with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements. Prepares Month end close journal entries. Analyzes account balances and determines appropriate accruals monthly. Records month end AR system activity to general ledger Reviews and analyzes revenue transactions. Reviews and analyzes expense accounts to ensure proper coding and make corrections as needed. Performs monthly income statement variance analyses. Performs monthly bank reconciliations. Performs additional accounting duties and ad hoc reporting as required. Reconciles and research balance sheet variances. Assists with quarterly and year-end audit requests. Always maintains a high degree of confidentiality due to access to sensitive information. Maintains regular, predictable, consistent attendance and is flexible to meet the needs of the department. Follows all Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA regulations and requirements. Abides by all regulations, policies, procedures, and standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Performance Responsibilities
