Required Skills

Knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction techniques, construction documents, and CAD concepts. Knowledge of building codes. CAD/BIM drafting skills are required. Knowledge of 3D Modeling software is a plus. Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign graphic software is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Education: B.S. in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design or Construction-related field or significant experience in a professional environment drafting residential and/or commercial construction documentation. 5+ years of experience. The Designer works in partnership with the Client Managers, Architects, Engineers, and CAD Technicians, and is responsible for producing high-quality construction documentation using CAD/BIM software of various types. The Designer consistently produces high-quality construction documentation in accordance with the project schedule and standards. They often mentor Designers and CAD/BIM Technicians on architectural design and technical software as well as construction assemblies and techniques in the built environment. The candidate should be able to focus in a bustling team environment and utilize strong time management skills, while occasionally handling multiple projects. The Designer works with the Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, and CAD Technicians, and is responsible for producing high-quality construction documentation in accordance with the project schedule and standards. The Designer will work as part of a national team delivering services in the residential and commercial markets. They must focus in a busy team environment, managing time effectively to multi-task while producing high-quality work, maintaining a positive, proactive attitude, and delivering world-class customer service. Basic Responsibilities

Prepare complex Architecture and Engineering construction drawings for residential and commercial projects utilizing AutoCAD Architecture and/or REVIT. Perform thorough self-review of work before submitting to supervisor. Maintain regular communication with the Project Management team regarding project status. Consistently apply Fieldstone’s Quality Control procedures and take ownership of their work. Maintain FAE standards for file and folder management (including submittals, RFIs, and other project records both electronic and paper). Comply with Fieldstone and client-specific standards (CAD, File Management, etc.). Participate in occasional team meetings to help resolve project issues such as coordination, scheduling, and technical concerns. Document time and expenses using Fieldstone’s business management system. Foster a culture of external and internal client service. Architectural Practice Responsibilities

Adhere to ethical standards and codes of professional conduct. Develop professional and leadership skills within the firm. Comply with laws and regulations governing the practice of architecture. Participate in community activities that may provide opportunities or design facilities that reflect community needs. Understand the implications of project delivery technologies. Participate in professional development activities that offer exchanges with other design professionals. Understand implications of policies and procedures to ensure supervision of design work by architect in responsible charge/control. Maintain a positive work environment within the firm that facilitates cooperation, teamwork, and staff morale. Develop and maintain effective and productive relationships with clients and consultants. Programming & Analysis

Prepare diagrams illustrating spatial relationships and functional adjacencies as required. Project Planning & Design

Assist in performing building code analysis. Assist in the coordination of building components and systems. Prepare design alternatives for client review as required. Project Development & Documentation

Communicate design ideas to the internal project team as required. Prepare submittals for regulatory approval. Position Type
