YMCA Senior Camp Counselor Location:

Middleburg Community Charter School 101 N. Madison St. Middleburg, VA 20117 Salary Range: $16.00 - $17.00 Why Work at the Y? As a Senior Camp Counselor at the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington, you’ll create lasting memories for campers while developing leadership skills and building professional relationships. You’ll lead by example, mentor youth, and ensure a safe, exciting, and inclusive camp experience. Key Responsibilities: Lead a dynamic camp environment where campers can learn, grow, and have fun. Provide leadership, energy, and enthusiasm to the camp program. Supervise and support multiple groups of campers, with help from Counselors and Junior Counselors. Implement camp programs and daily activities aligned with the overall curriculum. Foster camper engagement, social development, and positive peer interactions. Ensure the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all campers. Actively participate in all activities, including games, arts, sports, and special events. What We’re Looking For: Must be available from pre-camp training through the end of camp (June–August). High school graduate and at least 18 years of age. Prior supervisory experience in a day camp setting. Minimum of two seasons' experience as a camp counselor. Strong communication skills with both children and parents. Comfortable leading songs, games, sports, crafts, and other camp activities. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Able to pass a criminal background check and meet local/state licensing requirements. Physical Requirements: Able to sit or stand for extended periods. Physically active and able to engage in games and outdoor activities. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds. Visual acuity to monitor and ensure camper safety. Must provide documentation of TB skin test.
