THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Fire Systems Sales Representative for our fire safety business. The Sales Rep’s focus will be on developing new opportunities via contractors and end-users by managing and growing the business through new construction, renovations, and retro-fits within their assigned territory. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Selling fire alarm systems and related systems. Achieving orders/booking and gross margin goals. Meeting or exceeding the minimum annual quota assigned by the manager after the initial ramp-up period. Creating new market share by selling a broad range of products and services to new customers. Demonstrating strong prospecting skills and building customer relationships through consultative selling, following up with prospects promptly. Conducting post-installation follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and commitments are met. Performing needs assessments, developing sales proposals, estimates, specifications, and presentations. Providing accurate sales forecasts. Maintaining in-depth knowledge of products/services and customer issues through training, networking, and research. Using approved marketing materials to present sales proposals, highlighting our value proposition and advantages over competitors. Establishing call plans and follow-up strategies; applying effective territory management techniques. Influencing new construction specifications through engineering relationships and educational presentations. Collaborating with internal teams and external resources to close sales. Developing and executing tactical sales strategies targeting end users, developers, engineers, and contractors. Preparing sales promotion campaigns to promote product lines in commercial markets. WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU Two to five years of experience meeting and exceeding fire alarm sales quotas to contractors and end-users. Consistent sales performance with a track record of growing business through solutions. Deep understanding of fire alarm life safety systems, low voltage systems, installation, and testing. Minimum NICET Level II certification in fire alarm systems. Technical aptitude with knowledge of drawings and codes. Experience selling technical solutions through the contracting tier. Effective communication and presentation skills for broad audiences. Strong negotiation skills and a competitive spirit. Ability to travel overnight by air and/or ground as needed. Bachelor’s degree preferred; candidates with a combination of education and experience will be considered. WHAT WE'RE BRINGING TO THE TABLE Competitive salary based on qualifications.
