Onsite American Sign Language Interpreters – Hartford, CT
Propio Language Services is hiring onsite American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters to provide high‑quality interpretation services for a diverse client base in the Hartford, CT area.
Contract Responsibilities
Provides consecutive in‑person and virtual interpretation by phone and video, delivering first‑person support.
Follows interpreter protocols and procedures as required by Propio L.S. clients.
Adheres to Propio L.S. policies on information confidentiality and interpreter ethics.
Maintains strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA and related regulatory requirements.
Establishes and maintains quality service and positive interaction with all patients, customers, visitors, health care providers, and clinical employees.
Continuously improves vocabulary and specialized subject matter knowledge for medical, legal, social services, and other client contexts.
Requirements
Submission of an updated resume.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Intermediate computer skills.
Access to reliable transportation.
Documentation of updated vaccinations, including but not limited to TB, MMR, Varicella, Hep B, TDAP, seasonal influenza (Flu), and Covid.
Successful completion of a drug test and background check & security screen.
Signed commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and HIPAA compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of interpreting experience.
