Participate in food/beverage preparatory work (washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits; preparing salads; slicing cakes and pies; making coffee, tea, and other beverages). Prepare portions of food on trays or plates and pour beverages. Help with inventory counts and reception of deliveries. Prepare various types of documentation (preparation and inventory pull sheets, production/service documentation, sanitation records, meal delivery records, etc.). Help conduct orientation and training for staff and detainee workers. Monitor and direct detainee workers in tray preparation, cleanup, sanitation, and related duties in the operation of the food service area. Help keep the kitchen and food service areas clean and organized (washing/sorting dishes, glassware, and silverware; cleaning kitchen equipment, counters, and tables; sweeping and mopping the floor). Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent certification required. One (1) year food production experience in commercial, military, or institutional settings is preferred. Experience in corrections/detainee management and prior correctional food service training is preferred. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to maintain records, files and prepare simple reports. Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. Must be a United States citizen. Physical Requirements
The candidate should be able to frequently bend, stoop, reach above shoulder level, work with machinery, walk, stand, and sit. You may occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 60 lbs (sometimes more); climb and work in extreme temperatures.
