Upper School - Assistant Coach Varsity Girls Basketball role at The Nueva School. Job Summary
The position is responsible for coaching student-athlete/team strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition and to help them develop important life skills. This position will assist the varsity. Responsibilities
Coach and instruct players, individually or in groups, regarding the sport's rules, regulations, equipment, techniques, and tactics. Observe players during practice and competition to determine individual or team improvement needs. Determine game strategy based on the individual and team’s capabilities. Establish and maintain high standards of behavior and supervise athletes at all times. Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury. Observe school, league, state, regional, and national athletic program regulations. Model positive behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards players, parents, officials, and spectators – practice good sportsmanship. Employ nondiscriminatory practices in all activities. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And/or Abilities Required)
Some experience as a basketball coach or club level is preferred. Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills. Must have working knowledge of the sport's rules, regulations, techniques, and strategies. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and student-athletes. Job Compensation
