Essential Functions
Perform daily and discharge cleaning, including bed‑making, wall‑spotting, toilet cleaning, high/low dusting, and O.R. terminal cleaning. Maintain a professional and safe work environment, using caution signs and cones. Complete unfinished tasks from previous shifts and report any maintenance or assignment issues. Clean organic waste (blood, body fluids, feces, sputum, etc.) per supervisor instructions. Install cubicle, shower, and window curtains as needed. Disinfect and sanitize I.V. poles, pumps, and other patient equipment upon discharge. Learn and implement new cleaning procedures related to healthcare standards.
Schedule Monday to Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays.
Education High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
Experience — (No specific experience required stated).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Understand and converse in English at a level that allows safe, efficient performance of the job.
Adhere to all I C.A.R.E. Standards.
Possess manual dexterity and the ability to stand for long periods.
Follow department guidelines related to environmental services tasks.
Perform basic and heavier cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods.
Clean patient equipment as requested by the supervisor, including beds and all room furnishings.
Assist in manpower support for office and/or related moves, special conference room set‑ups, and any other occasions as required.
Use proper chemicals for the proper tasks.
Perform cleaning of emergency spills when observed and/or upon request.
Assist nursing in making up extra beds and other duties as assigned during community disaster.
