Job Summary:
Responsible for retrieving shopping carts dispersed throughout the NEX parking lot and nearby parking vicinities, ensuring availability of shopping carts to patrons. Duties And Responsibilities: Uses caution to prevent accidents while gathering abandoned shopping carts and removes them from NEX vestibules and other areas as needed. Gathers shopping carts to arrange in joined-interlocked formation for easy customer access. Maintains cart inventory, segregates malfunctioning carts, and notifies the Operations Manager of losses and safety-related issues. Accounts for electric carts, ensures they are fully charged, and monitors their status. Retrieves shopping carts upon customer request, ensuring they are free of debris and function properly. May assist with loading and unloading merchandise, maintaining NEX store fitting rooms, and keeping working areas clean and orderly. Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor and performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements:
No experience is required, but a high school graduate or equivalent is preferred. Physical requirements include pushing and/or pulling a collection of shopping carts totaling up to 45 pounds and performing duties while standing, pushing, pulling, and walking for long periods. This is a seasonal position with an end date of 12/31/2025, located in San Diego, California. The schedule is flexible, with 0-19.5 hours available.
