Provide
targeted small group reading instruction
to students at all reading levels, with a focus on acceleration and reading goal attainment. Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources aligned with students' individual reading levels and needs. Collaborate regularly with classroom teachers
to align instructional practices, support classroom goals, and inform student progress. Design and adapt lessons and materials that are differentiated to meet diverse learner needs. Track and document student performance and progress
using the district’s data management systems (e.g., SchoolPace, DIBELS). Participate in
data meetings and instructional planning sessions
to discuss student progress and determine next steps. Maintain clear, accurate, and confidential records. Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to reading instruction. Engage in
ongoing professional development
related to literacy instruction, assessment, and instructional strategies. Support and model a
culture of literacy
throughout the school building. Instructs reading programs with fidelity Any additional responsibilities assigned by supervisor. Required certification: CT Elementary teaching certification (013, 305) Successful teaching experience in an urban setting preferred Strong understanding of literacy development, evidence-based reading practices, and data analysis Ability to collaborate effectively with a team of educators and work independently when necessary Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills $25 an hour Maximum of 29.5 hours a week There are no benefits associated with this position Grant funded, non-union position
