Overview
Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada is seeking an Education Specialist for the Downtown Las Vegas location (2801 East Stewart Ave Las Vegas, NV 89101). This is a required driving position. The Education Specialist is responsible for overseeing all Academic Success (Education and Arts) programs at their assigned Clubhouse(s). This includes planning, development, reporting, and implementation of these programs in collaboration with the Programs team. The Education Specialist may assist with other operational functions of the Clubhouse and may serve as acting Clubhouse supervisor in the absence of the Clubhouse Director and Assistant Clubhouse Director. Responsibilities
Lead and teach new skills. Develop and deliver programming to youth members aged 6-18. Serve youth and create positive, supportive relationships with youth, families, Club staff, and community partners. Think on your feet, learn new things, and adapt quickly to changing situations; stay productive. Commit to continuous improvement and seek effective ways to accomplish tasks. Collaborate with the Programs team to plan, develop, report on, and implement Academic Success (Education and Arts) programs. Maintain a fun, energetic, and engaging club environment. Provide safe supervision and take responsibility for the safety and well-being of youth in programs. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Three years of experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization working with youth in an education and/or art setting. Working knowledge of Microsoft and/or Google suite of productivity applications (Word, Excel, Forms, Outlook, etc.). Ability to work with multi-age groups of children in various activity formats. Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple demands. Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills. Ability to interact professionally with the public, families, Youth Development Professionals, and members. Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for the safety, well-being, and output of others. Strong communication skills. Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range: $19.00/hr Compensation: $19.00 hourly. Eligible for full-time benefits after the first day of the month following 60 days of employment. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability Insurance, 401(k), Paid Holidays, Paid Time Off and Employee Assistance Program. Employment with BGCSNV may qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF). Drug testing and fingerprint-based background checks are required as conditions of employment.
