Overview
Asst Prof, Biology — Department: AIK Biology and Geology. Full Time. Tenure-track, 9-month appointment. Expected start date: August 16, 2026. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate courses in introductory biology, ecology, and specialty areas within the biology curriculum.
Develop and maintain an active research program that includes mentoring undergraduate research projects.
Contribute to the department's culture of funded research and undergraduate scholarly activity.
Qualifications
Required: Ph.D. in the biological sciences (ABD considered with degree conferred by time of appointment); demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and a research/publication record in ecological sciences; ability to mentor undergraduates in research.
Preferred: Postdoctoral experience; undergraduate teaching experience; ongoing scholarly activity; research focus on terrestrial ecosystems; strong interest in teaching and research at a small liberal arts institution.
