Teacher Infant/Toddler - Nursery School - Full time 8 Hours Variable Shifts (Union, Non-Exempt) at USC CERPP (Center for Enrollment Research, Policy and Practice). Position summary: Monitors the health and wellbeing of infants and/or toddlers. Supervises daily charting. Plans and implements developmentally appropriate experiences for infants and communicates with parents concerning their child. Supervises staff in the classroom and yard. Responsibilities

Provide supervision and guidance to children in an age-appropriate manner according to the NAEYC accreditation standards. Create and maintain an appropriate classroom environment which is safe, organized, stimulating, clean and orderly. Keep accurate records of children’s charts, sign-in/out sheets, and maintain daily attendance records and assessments. Report suspected illness or accidents to the Site Supervisor or Director for appropriate action. Develop a caring relationship with children and their parents. Meet with the parents informally to discuss the child’s daily progress. Maintain knowledge in Early Childhood Education or Child Development through continuing education, literature, workshops, or attendance at education in-service programs (21 hours per year required). Follow all infection control procedures. Ensure lesson plans are age-appropriate and show progression for development (inside/outside activities). Participate in planning and implementing special events for the Nursery School and hospital. Report maintenance needs to the office. Attend yearly parent meetings and regularly scheduled staff meetings. Provide physical caregiving, diapering, and feeding as needed. Prepare and serve nutritionally balanced snacks and meals. Qualifications

Education – Minimum Requirements: High School diploma; twenty-four postsecondary semester or equivalent quarter units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development (three must be in an infant/toddler course). An Associate of Arts or BA degree in Early Childhood or Child Development is preferred but not required. Work Experience – Minimum: Two years’ work experience in a licensed daycare center as an Infant/Toddler caregiver. Supervisor training, Health/Safety, and Communicable diseases class a plus. Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Exceptional patience and empathy. Pleasant, gentle, and unhurried demeanor. Ability to maintain utmost confidentiality. Good health, stamina, and the physical ability to move quickly, bend and lift lightweight furniture and children. Licenses and Certifications – Current CPR and First Aid certificate. Pay Transparency: The hourly rate range for this position is $21.00 - $24.66.
