Summary The Safety Coordinator will ensure a safe work environment by developing and implementing safety programs, conducting training, and monitoring compliance with safety regulations. The Safety Coordinator will identify hazards, investigate accidents, and ensure the organization adheres to legal and internal safety requirements.
Travel throughout the state of Colorado is required.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations
Promoting the Zero Accident philosophy
Performing morning safety briefings covering company-provided content with the ability to assemble relevant content if necessary
Assisting or performing investigations of vehicular incidents, near misses, equipment damage, and injury incidents
Assisting with post-injury management
Administering safety orientation programs to acquaint employees with site conditions, safe work practices, policies, and procedures
Maintaining documentation of the company’s safety procedures, accidents, and related events
Attending pre-task meetings
Performing field audits and observations, developing corrective actions from audit findings and tracking corrective actions to completion
Coordinating safety activities with customers as necessary
Conducting required safety training in support of project needs
Developing site‑specific safety processes and procedures to support the overall project plan
Participating in site safety committees and conducting appropriate meetings
Promoting business activities and operations that minimize impacts to sensitive environmental resources
Completing and filing timely safety reports as required
Implementing preventative measures to ensure unsafe processes are not repeated
Ensuring all personnel follow all personal safety precautions (hard hats, protective goggles, etc.)
Attending customer’s monthly and annual meetings
Assisting with coordination and specimen collection for DOT and post‑incident drug screens
What You’ll Bring
Associated Degree in Occupational Safety and Health
Previous experience in transmission and electrical construction
Two (2) years of prior experience in comprehensive workplace safety and compliance programs
Solid knowledge of state and local statutes and ordinances on utility safety and DOT regulations and up‑to‑date on latest local and state guideline changes
Ability to speak in front of others well to conduct training in groups
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines
Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and project managers
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and walk through the work day
Subject to both environmental conditions: activities occur inside and outside
Ability to travel extensively with extended overnight stays
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self‑directed, organized, and self‑motivated to accomplish goals
Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)

The salary range for this position generally ranges between $80,000 to $120,000. This estimate is based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs, and other considerations permitted by law. The salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rules.
