Overview

The University of Kansas Medical Center's Geriatric Medicine Division within the Department of Internal Medicine seeks a faculty member at the Assistant Professor level to support the mission of delivering high-quality older adult care, teaching, research, and academic responsibilities at the region's quaternary referral center. The position offers opportunities to provide optimal medical care to older adults for surgical and non-surgical patients at The University of Kansas Health System, while delivering consultative services to colleagues within the faculty. As a clinician educator, you will help shape the next generation of healthcare professionals, including Geriatrics Fellows, Internal Medicine residents, Family Medicine residents, and medical students, through hands-on teaching in clinical settings. As part of the geriatric team, the faculty member balances inpatient consultations with coverage in skilled nursing facilities, and participates in educational and administrative conferences as guided by supervision. Collaboration with faculty and interdisciplinary professionals is essential, particularly in implementing the Age Friendly Health System Initiative and contributing to the Landon Center on Aging, which integrates community engagement, education, research, and clinical care. Responsibilities

Balance responsibilities between inpatient consultations, coverage in skilled nursing facilities, and rotation in divisional on-call. Regular participation in educational and administrative conferences. Teach fellows, residents, and medical students. Collaborate with faculty and interdisciplinary professionals, particularly in implementing the Age Friendly Health System Initiative. Contribute to the Landon Center on Aging, integrating community engagement, education, research, and clinical care.
