Associate Researcher I- Pharmacological Sciences

We seek a talented and motivated Research Associate I to assist in conducting a new NIH-funded study at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai examining a new mechanism and therapy for comorbid health problems, including Alzheimer’s disease, metabolic dysregulation, and more, in mouse models of Down Syndrome. Responsibilities
Conducts routine and standardized experiments using appropriate research techniques specific to the project. Analyzes and assists in interpreting moderately complex results and laboratory results. Performs assays to support research studies (e.g., ELISAs) and maintains laboratory environment and inventory; may include ordering supplies. Logs and tests samples; prepares and submits laboratory materials and specimens for shipment. Assists in new and unexpected research experiments and techniques. Assists in the collection, analysis and review of experimental data for publication and presentation. Performs other related duties. Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in science or related field required 1 - 2 years of research/laboratory experience Experience / Skills (preferred)
Experience with genotyping of transgenic mice, RNAscope on tissues, ELISAs, immunohistochemistry and/or Western blot preferred Experience with small animal surgery and rodent handling required Familiarity with multiple tissues/organ systems (brain, adipose, bone, etc.) is a plus Strong collaboration skills, organization, problem-solving, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Position details
The majority of time will be allocated to the funded study; may assist with other lab projects as needed Excellent opportunity for training with potential authorship on papers and abstracts; may serve as a stepping stone to graduate or medical school Candidates who can commit to at least two full years are required Employer Description

The Mount Sinai Health System provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is
$58,661 - $77,125.98
annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, education, and operational need. This range does not include bonuses, incentives, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
