Overview

Provide accurate and complete interpretation services to facilitate oral communication between Limited English Proficiency (LEP) patients, families and CM staff. Supports patient safety and ensures that LEP individuals have meaningful access to information. Responsibilities

Provide accurate, complete and impartial interpretation services for Limited English Proficiency (LEP) patients, family members and CM staff. Models exemplary customer service through the delivery of interpretation services to patients, families and CM staff that is consistent with the philosophy, mission, vision and values of the department and organization. Performs other duties and participates in other projects or committees that support hospital and departmental priorities or activities. Qualifications

HS diploma or equivalent and Completion of Pediatric Medical Interpreter Training Program at Children's Mercy OR High school diploma and graduate of a recognized medical interpreter training program (Community College, Bridging the Gap, SBA or equivalent) and 1-2 years of experience. Direct experience as a Medical Interpreter (preferred) or in a position that required bilingual ability. Passing score on language skills competency exam, bilingual interview and role playing. Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $20.69/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience. EEO Employer/Disabled/Vet
