Position Title Physics - Poulsbo - Non-Tenure Track Faculty Vacancy Pool About the University & Western on the Peninsulas Western Washington University (WWU), with over 14,500 students in seven colleges and the graduate school, is nationally recognized for its educational programs, students and faculty. Western's main campus is located in Bellingham, Washington, with academic centers on the Olympic and Kitsap Peninsulas to support degree attainment and regional growth in partnership with Olympic and Peninsula Colleges. WWU currently offers nine BA and BS degrees, including a Cybersecurity BS degree, throughin-person and hybrid programs to meet the needs of the region's diverse student population. About the Position The Physics & Astronomy Department at Western Washington University is seeking applications for full- and part-time non-tenure-track (NTT) instructor appointments to teach physics courses, including Physics with Calculus I & II, in Poulsbo, Washington in support of the Department of Computer Science’s Cybersecurity Program. Courses in the program in Poulsbo are offered in nontraditional formats, including extended class periods, afternoon or evenings, and video assisted formats. Appointments may be quarterly or for a 9-month period dependent on the opportunities. Positions may become available at any time. Required Qualifications
Masters degree in Physics, Astronomy or related area by date of appointment. Evidence of effective teaching at the lower undergraduate level in physics courses. Demonstrated commitment to cultivating learning environments that are equitable and inclusive of students with diverse identities and backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Physics, Astronomy or related area by date of appointment. Evidence of effective teaching in undergraduate physics lab courses. Conditions of Employment All employees must comply with our Immunization policies, including Proof of Rubeola Measles Immunity within 60-days of hire.
