Concord Museum
The Concord Museum, in historic Concord, Massachusetts, seeks friendly and dynamic individuals to join its museum interpretation team. Interpreters greet visitors, give tours, answer questions, monitor museum galleries to ensure the safety of the collection, and provide a friendly knowledgeable presence in the galleries. We are currently prioritizing new staff for the busy holiday season (November 27 – January 1), but we are also looking for a several new Interpreters to stay on permanently as we head into the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution in the spring of 2025.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have experience in a customer service role or experience working with the public; previous experience in a museum or other historic setting is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. High school diploma or equivalent is required, some college preferred. Interest in American history, museums, or public history is highly desirable.
Interpreters are required to work at least two weekend days each month; weekday and some evening shifts are also available. This part-time position is perfect for college or graduate students, retirees, and others with a flexible schedule looking to be part of a dynamic team in a historic environment. Hours may vary from week to week for a total of 6 to 25 hours.
