The Role
Commercial Account Executive, North Central Location: Des Moines, IA We are seeking an experienced Commercial Account Executive with a passion for cybersecurity who can meet revenue targets across the North Central region. This role is responsible for driving new customer acquisition and expanding existing accounts in North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Iowa, leveraging direct engagement and our channel partner ecosystem. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced growth environment, demonstrate strong territory planning, and cultivate executive-level relationships that result in pipeline and revenue growth.
Responsibilities
Territory ownership: Develop and execute a territory plan for North Central (ND, SD, NE, MN, IA), aligning sales strategy with regional opportunities and customer needs.
Pipeline generation: Drive revenue through prospecting, referrals, inbound leads, and by leveraging the channel community across the region.
Forecasting & reporting: Provide accurate forecast updates, maintain visibility into pipeline health, and drive deal progression.
Customer engagement: Identify and engage potential clients, understand their security challenges, and present tailored solutions with a focus on measurable business outcomes.
Value articulation: Clearly communicate Halcyon’s value proposition to business and technical stakeholders.
Post-sale growth: Optimize client engagement post-sale, identify opportunities for expansion, and drive additional transactions at the right time.
Account management: Build and maintain strong relationships with regional customers, acting as a trusted advisor for evolving cybersecurity needs.
Regional presence: Represent Halcyon at local industry events, user groups, and conferences across the North Central region.
Negotiations: Lead contract discussions, pricing, and agreements in alignment with client and organizational objectives.
Collaboration: Partner with internal teams—including marketing, channel, and customer success—to optimize territory execution.
Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrated success in territory-based sales, with a track record of meeting or exceeding quota in enterprise or commercial markets.
Experience selling endpoint cybersecurity solutions (or related security SaaS/software).
Ability to build executive-level relationships and drive long-term client partnerships.
Strong qualification skills and the ability to prioritize opportunities based on success metrics.
Skilled negotiator with experience leading procurement and legal agreement discussions.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities, comfortable engaging technical and business leaders.
Highly organized, data-driven, and effective at territory planning.
Self-starter with entrepreneurial drive; startup experience is a plus.
Familiarity with the cybersecurity landscape in the North Central U.S. is a strong plus.
Compensation
Base Salary Range: $95,000 – $110,000
On-Target Earnings (OTE): $200,000 – $220,000 (based on experience)
Bonus/Variable: Uncapped commission structure
Note: This role is remote-friendly. The compensation ranges are Halcyon’s reasonable estimates and may differ based on experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. Base pay is part of the total compensation package and additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and equity may be offered.
