Catering Sales Manager

The role focuses on soliciting new catering accounts, entertaining and maintaining relationships with existing accounts to meet and/or exceed food and beverage revenue goals. Responsibilities
Manage the sales efforts for the property including weddings and social catering. Drive revenue through the delivery of exceptional customer service and by actively pursuing new and existing accounts. Provide market intelligence to evaluate trends and adjust strategy to meet or exceed client expectations. Solicit new and existing accounts via telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections, and written communication. Respond to incoming catering opportunities and collaborate with other hotel departments to deliver quality service. Attend community or industry events and join local/national organizations as appropriate. Develop and sell creative catered events; work with Culinary and Events teams on menu development that drives sales. Maintain knowledge of wedding industry trends, market conditions, and economic factors. Maintain detailed communication and internal tracking through the sales process from proposal to contracting. Aim to achieve catering revenue goals by up-selling opportunities and maximizing revenue. Interact effectively with customers (external and internal) to ensure team success. Stay informed about market trends, competition, and customer needs. Maintain high personal guest contact via telephone and in-person interactions; ensure guest satisfaction with timely follow-up. Uphold professional appearance and demeanor; monitor cleanliness and safety during hotel tours. Familiarity with industry systems (Delphi FDC, Wedding Wire, The Knot) and hotel banquet capacities and procedures. Meet quarterly and weekly booking goals through various sales activities (telephone, site inspections, luncheons, personal calls). Deliver exemplary customer service to drive client and group satisfaction and loyalty during events. Qualifications
Previous sales experience in corporate and/or social markets, including weddings, preferred. Minimum 2-3 years of catering sales experience. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and excellent interpersonal abilities. Exceptional organizational skills and professional demeanor. Knowledge of food and beverage menus, preparation, and presentation; ability to think creatively and strategically. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to proactively sell. Working knowledge of banquets and other F&B operations; experience in Chicago and Milwaukee markets preferred. Hotel/hospitality/event planning degree preferred but not required. Flexibility to work varying schedules to reflect business needs. Benefits
